FDAT - Fleet Driver Assessment and Training

Vehicle Upgrade Induction Training

Vehicle fleet operations change for many reasons, such as aquisition, takeover, successful sales and subsequent business growth and sometimes because of specialist operational need to retain marketshare or to exploit a gap in the market. Whatever the reason(s), as a company changes so to does its requirements for training and the upgrading of its employees skill-set and as an employer, you have a duty of care to ensure your staff are properly trained.

If yours is a company that has seen a marked change in its operational direction and subsequently the type of fleet it operates, have your staff been exposed to new training programs to familiarise them in the use of the new vehicle types or the ancillary equipment that is a part of those vehicles?
Have you moved from car to van? Van to LGV? Or do you now operate specialist vehicles or auxiliary equipment? Answering yes to any of these questions means that staff should be inducted into the nuances of these vehicles and any specialist equipment installed to ensure safe operation, improved knowledge, minimised repair costs and ultimately the longevity of this expensive 'kit'.

Vehicles of different sizes and weights handle differently whether empty or loaded, gearing can be unfamiliar and vehicle lengths can be difficult to judge. All of theses factors have health and safety implications and if members of your driving staff do not receive induction on unfamiliar vehicles, you could be leaving yourself open to huge repair bills or worse, legal prosecution.

FDAT offer vehicle audit services that also include induction training for your staff. Dependent on the vehicle, we offer all health and safety advice and regulation awareness.

Included in the induction training are the following:

Induction training can be given on an individual or group basis.
