FDAT offer a complete course of instruction for anyone wishing to obtain their LGV Licence. All of our instructors hold the appropriate

By providing the correct training and instruction our instructors will also endeavour to instil a high level of positive behaviour,
ensuring that the driver adopts a professional approach in their chosen career.

Occupational Road Risk Assessment
If you or a member of your staff has a road accident whilst driving for your company and you haven't complied with current Occupational Road
Risk legislation (ORR), you could be risking a hefty fine, or worse still a prison sentence (depending upon the seriousness of the accident).

Driver Assessment and Corrective Training
Our skilled assessors can identify your drivers' strengths and weaknesses and discuss corrective action, with a full report issued for
each driver. The assessment is carried out in your vehicle over a pre-selected route. Drivers must already hold the appropriate full
category of licence entitlement to drive the type of vehicle used in the assessment.

Vehicle Upgrade Inductions
If yours is a company that has seen a marked change in its operational direction and subsequently the type of fleet it operates, have
your staff been exposed to new training programs to familiarise them in the use of the new vehicle types or the ancillary equipment
that is a part of those vehicles?
Vehicles of different sizes and weights handle differently whether empty or loaded, gearing can be unfamiliar and vehicle lengths can be
difficult to judge all of which have health and safety implications.

Hazard Perception and Theory Training - all vehicles
As well as LGV Licence Acquisition, FDAT also offers Hazard Perception Training (HPT) for all vehicles, including cars. Training takes
place on a one-to-one basis for a computerised course to prepare you for your DSA HPT test.
We offer help with the Theory Test to pupils with learning difficulties in reading and writing. You should not see a learning difficulty as
a barrier to learning to drive.

Analogue and Digital Tachograph Training
Managers and drivers need to be familiar with both traditional and digital tachograph systems and how to integrate them. Drivers must be
able to operate both types of tachograph as new vehicles with digital tachographs replace older vehicles that have the analogue
tachograph. This is also applies where ad-hoc hired vehicles are periodically used operationally.
